This filter is equipped with a 90 micron polyester screen that can be cleaned by simply opening the bottom drain port. The cleaning process has been significantly enhanced as the mesh screen is mounted on a stainless steel spring. When the drain valve is opened the sudden and dramatic pressure drop causes the fitler cartridge to drop. Thus not only the exterior of the screen surface is cleaned but also the rapid flow of water from the interior to the exterior of the cartridge facilitates a "backwash" cleaning effect. Competitors do not offer this innovative feature and only rely on a surface cleaning. This unit comes well equipped with a mounting bracket , spanner wrench and complete discharge kit. This KleenWater filter is constructed of reinforced polyamide that has a maximum temperature rating of 176 degrees. The maximum pressure rating is 116 psi. The filter head and body are manufactured of reinforced nylon. The drain ball valve is constructed of nickel plated brass. All components conform to NSF/ANSI 42 and 61 for material safety.
